Plans to Privatise Holland Casinos Delayed

The much heralded plan to privatise Holland Casinos has hit the rails, again! Holland Casinos were formed as a Trust in 1974 and have steadily grown over the intervening years. It was initially agreed by Government in 2012 that the State-owned casino monopoly would be sold off, with a market expectation of up to €1bn. It was expected that the break up would happen by 2017 with the casinos split into a 10 casino estate plus another group of 4 casinos, plus the potential for new licences to be approved. However, initial uncertainty over historical profitability caused delays, these concerns have long since dissipated as the group continues to build solid growth and improved profitability. The latest news that yet more “administrative issue” will not be welcome by investors and now means that all progress will be stalled until at least 2020.
